Spousetivities is a program designed for spouses, partners, family, friends, etc. traveling to Spain with a DockerCon attendee. While attendees are at the conference during the day, Spousetivities will adventure around Barcelona and nearby cities, meeting new people and learning about the history and culture of Spain.
Transportation to and from the conference center, lunch meals and museum ticket fees are included in the package price.
Daily Spousetivities Trips
Costa Brava & Girona: €150
Guests will visit charming fishing villages, local markets, city gardens, and enjoy short walks to secluded beaches and great panoramic lookout points over this Mediterranean paradise. The Girona city tour takes you through the rich history of one of Spain’s most charming, medieval walled cities that has been very well preserved since it was founded by the Romans in the 1st century. On this journey through time, guests will also enjoy a four-course lunch, in a traditional local restaurant, that includes wine, salads, olives, grilled meats and fish dishes.
Barcelona City Tour + Sagrada Familia: €150
This food and wine tour is truly an indulgent, off-the-beaten-path city tour. During this incredible day, you’ll experience a wide range of tastes in the most exciting districts of Barcelona. This tour takes you through the lively and diverse districts of Barcelona to sample a generous variety of both classic and modern tapas in local venues. The focus of the tour is to provide an action-packed, well-rounded city walking tour, stopping at four to five venues for great, distinct dishes paired with terrific Spanish wine and cava. This tour is a great introduction to Barcelona and is strongly recommended for travelers looking to combine an interactive city tour with lunch and/or for adventurous people who just want a guaranteed great day out on the town in Barcelona!
Montserrat and Medieval Village: €150
The group will head for a visit at the impressive Monastery of Montserrat. Most visitors will have the opportunity to hear the famous Boys’ Choir perform (not guaranteed). You will also visit the “Moreneta de Montserrat”, one of the black Madonnas of Europe, and enjoy a light walk to Santa Cova, where the black Madonna is said to have originally been found and rescued. Guests not wishing to hear the choir will have a short time to hike or explore on their own. The tour will then depart Montserrat and the group will enjoy a fantastic lunch of local Catalan country cuisine in a traditional restaurant at the base of Montserrat. Lunch will be followed by a visit to one of Spain’s many medieval villages where guests will feel like they stepped back in time while enjoying architecture of days gone by.
